How Much CBD Should I Be Taking?

Our customers love our products. In fact, our frequent, returning buyers aren’t just CBD oil users, they often become champions of the CBD oil movement, touting the quality, ingredients, and overall benefits of taking our CBD oil.

They tell family, friends, co-workers, and anyone who’ll listen, about the many benefits they’ve personally experienced after adding a daily serving of CBD oil to their daily routine.

One question that we hear over and over is: How much CBD should I take each day?

A simple question with a variety of not-so-simple answers. Unfortunately, there is no standardized answer to this question just yet. The internet offers a wide range of possibilities, which only increases the confusion. Here, we try to simplify the process for you.

Typically, the most reliable source for this type of information would be the federal government, specifically the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). They have yet to provide this information.

In the U.S., it is the FDA that is responsible for creating any Recommended Daily Intake (RDI), defined as the daily levels of a nutrient sufficient enough to meet the requirements of 97-98% of healthy individuals in the U.S. However, the FDA has not created an RDI for suggested daily servings of CBD.

In order to comply with FDA regulations, bōtasofi does not list an RDI of our own, nor do we provide a Daily Value (%DV) of CBD for any of our products. Rather, we recommend our customers do their own research from a source they can trust and also consulting with their doctor or specialist to determine their own ideal daily CBD levels.

However, our products do come with a “suggested serving size.” This is here to help you decide the right amount of CBD serving sizes, using a variety of our products, to help you hit your daily goal. This target number also guides the bōtasofi team in helping you determine which hemp oil supplements are best for you.

bōtasofi offers products with a range of CBD serving sizes – from the 8.3 mg of CBD per serving in our 1 oz 250mg version to 100mg per serving in our 3,000mg version.

When starting any new supplement routine, it is suggested you start low and go slow. When you hit your ideal daily serving size, you can decide if you’d like to continue increasing or stay where you are. This will help you dial in the daily CBD serving that works best for you.

When starting your experience with CBD oil, less is more. Start with small doses daily. Do this for 3-4 days and monitor your results. Increase the dose in 1/4 dropper increments as needed. Your personal serving of CBD is all about hitting the sweet spot for your endocannabinoid system. What works for someone else, may not work for you. Finding the right serving might take a little time, but you will get there.

Now that you’ve got a grip on how much CBD oil you want to take, you might need a reminder of why you’re taking it in the first place!

There are a number of reasons to take a daily serving of CBD from hemp oil products, but the most prominent among them is that a hemp oil supplement helps augment the body’s naturally occurring endocannabinoids, increasing the body’s ability to promote balance within its systems.

When absorbed by the body, CBD interacts with the body’s endocannabinoid system, which is responsible for maintaining homeostasis (balance) through the manipulation of a number of the body’s functions, like sleep, appetite, and immune function.

It can take a couple of minutes to a couple of hours after use for the effects of CBD to fully appear, depending on serving size and method of application, among other factors that affect the rate of absorption by the body.

Sublingual (holding under the tongue for thirty seconds) absorption takes place within 10‐15 minutes, while capsules can take anywhere from 1-2 hours to take effect. This is why we always recommend a sublingual product rather than products like pills and capsules that may not only take longer to produce the desired outcome but also tend to have the CBD diluted in the metabolic process.

Once the endocannabinoid is supplemented in this way, it is able to function more efficiently, thus optimizing the body’s performance each day.

Although it is not critical to supplement the endocannabinoid system daily, doing so increases the effectiveness of CBD oil’s interaction with the endocannabinoid system.
